This Plug In version of the Hewitt-Tech SAIS Bypass kit offers all the same features and benefits of the Hewitt-Tech Wired Version but with super quick and labor saving Plug and Play Installation. All wiring connections except the starter relay connection are accomplished by the Plug and Play harness. Like the wired version, these kits prevent operation of the secondary air injection system at cold start. By preventing the SAIS from operating many of the trouble codes, CEL and Limp mode that are associated with a SAIS failure will not return once cleared. The Plug and Play Harness provides a very clean factory looking installation that allows for the bypass module to still be hidden out of plain sight. The SAIS Pump Proxy Pack is an Add-On to our popular SAIS Bypass Kits. Normally our SAIS Bypass Kits can’t clear a P0418 or P0419 but now they can with the additional installation of a Pump Proxy Pack. The other option for clearing a P0418/P0419 code after installing a SAIS Bypass kit is to replace the SAIS Air Injection Pump with a new and expensive unit. . That is a particularly expensive repair if you have to pay for the labor on a 4.7L engine where the Air Injection Pump is located under the intake manifold. Installing a Pump Proxy pack is much less expensive that having to replace an air injection pump and you can just leave the old faulty unit in place.
Here are the Common Trouble codes that the Standard Bpyass Kit can illiminate:1441, P1442, P1444, P1445, P2440, P2441, P2442, P2443, P2445*, P2447, P0418 or P0419
*This kit will not work with any 2012-2013 Sequoia or Tundra 5.7L vehicle that have had their ECM updated with a calibration file from Toyota Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0033-12. This specific bulletin is for P2440/P2442 SAIS Switching Valves Stuck Open Bank 1/2 under freezing ambient conditions. It is assumed that this ECM update will cause the secondary air system to operate at shutdown after the veihcle has reached operating temperature. At this time the bypass modules cannot prevent this. If you have a 2012-2013 Sequoia or Tundra 5.7L and this update has been performed they are supposed to place an Authorized Modification sticker on the underside of the hood somewhere near the driver side door. If the New Calibration ID starts with 30CK or 30CJ and the last 4 digits are 0300, 1300,1301,2300,2301,5300,5301, 6300, 6301, or 9300 the current bypass modules are not compatable with this Calibration File. The lack of an Authorized Modification sticker in this area is not a quarantee that this ECM update has not been performed.

The included No.2 Exhaust Valve Block-off Plates are an integral part of the bypass kit (images may not match the plates you receive for your specific engine). The block off plates are the only way to isolate the exhaust valves and the related pressure sensor(s) from the exhaust. By completely isolating the system from the exhaust the pressure sensors are prevented from causing valve stuck open trouble codes which are the main cause of limp mode when this system fails. Even though a system is bypass and should never run again, the Exhaust No.2 valves can still leak exhaust and cause future trouble. Installing the block off plates is the only way to prevent future valve trouble and limp mode. Again, it is just best to install and forget about it.

A SAIS Bypass Kit must be installed to use a Pump Proxy Pack.
These packs install at the SAIS Air Pump Driver that is located on the driver's side inner fender well. There is no need to remove or replace the bad air injection pump when installing one of these packs.
P0418 - Relay 'B' Circuit Malfunction
P0419 - Relay 'B' Circuit Malfunction
The engines with smaller displacement than the 4.7L have only one air pump that can cause a P0418. Depending on year, the 4.7L engine can have one or two air pumps. A P0419 is only possible if you have a second air injection pump. The 5.7L engines all have 2 air injection pumps. For those vehicles with 2 air injection pumps, both air pump drivers will be located back to back on the inner driver’s fender. The Bank 1 Air Pump Driver (P0418) is located towards the rear of the vehicle and the Bank 2 Air Pump Driver (P0419 is located towards the front of the vehicle.
One SAIS Pump Proxy Pack is needed for each code i.e. if you have a P0418 and a P0419 you would need to install one pack on each Air Pump Driver.
